Work Is Your Friend, Not Your Enemy

A lot of work in college is boring… a lot a work in life is too for that matter.  It is for that reason that work gets a bum wrap.  How many people do you know that live for Friday, and dread Monday?  Maybe the better questions is, how many people do you know that love Monday more than Friday?

If you have found someone who believes the latter, then they are probably doing something they love.  They are probably doing something they would for free if they could.  That is the kind of work (notice I didn’t say job) worth doing.

I would be a multi-millionaire if I could invent a technique to find out instantly everything people love to do before they try it.  But unfortunately you have to go out there and find that for yourself.  If you are like me, you will have to do a lot of things you hate before you have the pleasure of doing something you love.

The trick is to make work your friend and not your enemy no matter what you have to do.  Look at each boring or unfulfilling job or task as a stepping stone to one that will be better.  Learn what you have to there and make the best of it.  The alternative is to suffer,  to learn nothing from the experience, and to be miserable.  You have the choice to be positive or negative.  I am always surprised at the amount of people who choose the be negative and seem to enjoy every minute of it.  If you know someone like this do me a favor: RUN!!!
