Welcome to My World: Classrooms Meet Adventure

We haven’t figured the Internet out yet, or rather, we haven’t figured out how to use it.  It is too new.  There are too many possibilities, and the education system, as a whole doesn’t know how to approach it.

Our educational structure is set up for well defined policies, procedures, and protocols….but you can’t set the 3 P’s when information is coming from everywhere, and you don’t have control of the source, whoooppps, I meant to say sources.  Who is the expert on this matter?  It’s humbling when it’s an 8 year old!

Instead of having the classroom as the focus of learning, why not make the world the focus of learning?  This is outside the four walls!  Welcome to a video of China on the Great Wall from someone standing on top of it.  Oh, but wait?!?  Is that a college student?  Yup!  A college student doing something remarkable: making a small gift for the world in the form of a video.

The question teachers and students should be asking is, How did the student get there?  “My dreams for you is that every student who want to travel does so before the age of 30.“  It’s possible, but someone has to lead them.  Someone has to show them how.  I can’t do it alone, but I know some people who will help.  It’s time to get to work!
