Australia Zoo

For the price of $47 AUD, I took the opportunity to pass the day at the world-famous Australia Zoo.  In case you didn’t know it, this is the place that Steve Erwin’s parents originally built as a reptile park on 4 acres of land.  It has made quite a huge transformation because of the success of Steve Erwin.

I was able to feed an elephant, pet a koala bear, and feed water to kangaroos.  I am not an animal person, but the idea behind the zoo is that, as much as possible, people are allowed to interact with the animals.  For instance, I wasn’t allowed to pet the kimono dragon, or swim with the crocodiles.

We did go there on a special day though.  The Erwin family was there at the park, Bindi and the Bindi Girls did a 5 song/dance number, and there was a crocodile feeding.  I left mid-way through Bindi singing and went to feed kangaroos.  The croc feeding was fun to watch!
